This years Cygnets Emerging from the far rush and thick mist today there looks to be eight Cygnets this year …..
Signs of the Seasons changing. Around the City the Cherry trees are in full blossom….. ……the lambs are in the pastures…… …..the first Butterflies have appeared (a Peacock butterfly sunning itself!). …..the Swans are nesting…….. …..and the young birds are appearing. ( A Coot with two chicks.)
A Swans life! Whilst the Pen (female) Mute Swan is sitting tight on the nest at the far side of the Loch ……….. ….the Cob (male) is kept busy chasing off intruders!
You are being watched! A Roe deer buck keeping his eye on things. His antlers are still partly covered by their hairy skin covering referred to as ‘in velvet’!
Great White Egret After a week at the Loch the Great White Egret left at the end of March and headed east!
‘Lesser Hooded’ House Sparrow!! No such a bird but this House Sparrow with the white feather patch on its head has been regularly frequenting the bird feeder in the garden this winter!
