The Predators A Cormorant – the last bird anglers want to see at any waters containing fish. They will travel miles inland from the coast to feed until they can barely fly. Corby Loch is less than two miles from the sea ‘as the crow (Cormorant) flies‘ and there are regularly several ‘fishing’ through most of the year. One positive note there are obviously fish in the Loch!
A sign of warmer weather With some warmer sunny spells the Seven Spot Ladybirds have appeared early in the garden.
Covid – 19 With the necessary restrictions to contain the above virus, photo opportunities will be very limited. ‘Wildlife’ in the back garden may take a bit of a photo bashing and the archives may have to be delved into. Be safe everybody.
Spawning time. The Common frog – it is that time of year when frogs are making their way to their spawning ponds crossing tracks and roads in the process, unfortunately some don’t make it! ( Photo by Stephen.)
Whoopers are still with us! There are a few Whooper Swans left on the Loch, shortly to be heading back north for the summer. They will appear again in the autumn migrating south for the winter.
