Whins (Gorse) reflections … … in a flat calm at the far end of the Loch. Now a week later they are brown and have all gone to seed.
This years fledglings … … the Little Grebes who live near the boathouse have produced five chicks … … but sadly it appears the resident Swan couple have left the nest without any sign of Cygnets following them!
It is that time of year … … and with a considerable improvement in the weather and growth of grass the lambs are out in the pastures around the Loch … … and this one posed for a photograph! Unfortunately the weather hasnt been so kind to this quite early Peacock butterfly which although somewhat ‘battered’ still manages to fly!
A Wild Goose chase ….. … these two appear to have had a difference of opinion out in the middle of the Loch!
Signs of Spring. After a spell of very cold and poor weather the Primroses and Primula are in full bloom … … as are the Daffodils … … whilst the Flowering Currant appears happy in amongst the Holly!
Always carry your good camera otherwise ….. … this is what happens! This young Buzzard showed no signs of fear as it stared at the car, so this inferior iphone image was the result!
Weather victim … … with the snow and ice now cleared sadly this young Heron, one of last years young judging by the size of the remains, appears not to have found the sustenance to survive the extreme conditions, fortunately two new Herons are already frequenting the Loch..
