Even with the weather getting cooler there are still a few Damselflies around the Loch. A sunny period yesterday brought out a Red Admiral butterfly in the garden!
The earlier than usual arrival of Whooper Swans from the ‘north’. Some twenty plus Whooper Swans arrived yesterday and although a few might stay, most will travel on south after a rest.
A Great Diving Beetle (just over an inch in length and normally aquatic) slowly making it’s way along the boathouse track.
Not a welcoming sight if you are a visiting swan! The male Mute Swan (the Cob) controls which other swans are welcome!
Mum and the seven cygnets – unfortunately Dad was too far behind to make the photograph!
This years Swallow fledgelings explore their new surroundings … ..and then return to flying lessons!
Having missed its quarry………. ..the Sparrowhawk returned to its roadside observation post.
Like many wild creatures when disturbed, this Roe Deer Hind ran then stopped and turned back for a look.
