Seasons Indicators.

Friday saw the arrival from the far north of the first group of Whooper swans breaking their journey before heading south for the winter.

The Cob makes do with a quick ‘once over’ …..

….. whilst the Pen on the other hand is far more fastidious …..

….. making sure she does a thorough job …..

….. and at the end has a a bit of a rest!

A juvenile ‘poacher’!

What appeared to be somebody near the outlet …..

….. turned out to be a young Cormorant having a ‘snooze’ presumably after ‘fishing’ ……

….. it was a little bemused on being disturbed and when fully awake …..

….. headed off out into the Loch!

As the days shorten and the sun drops in the sky the sunsets can be more vivid!

A Damsels dinner?

The fly seems oblivious to the Red Damsels presence! (The Damselfly is approximately 4cm in length!

‘Cygnet’ update.

… this. All eight cygnets after three and a half months have survived any dangers and are nearly as big as the adults.

High-wire Dragonfly!

This female Common Darter dragonfly landed on the barbed wire and …..

…..in a moderate wind had to cling on tight! (Actual size approximately four cms!)
